Wills, Powers of Attorney and Appointments of Enduring Guardians
It’s not always easy to discuss planning for the future, but having those discussions and putting in place some simple documents can help to make things easier for your loved ones in the event that something happens to you. There are three main documents everyone should consider as part of their planning for the future:
01 | Wills
A Will appoints a person or persons to act on behalf of your Estate when you pass away, and provides instructions as to how you would like to see your assets distributed.
02 | Power of Attorney
A Power of Attorney appoints someone to act on your behalf in relation to your financial and legal affairs. This can be either a General Power of Attorney (useful for limited time appointments, such as if you were overseas travelling) or an Enduring Power of Attorney (which is designed to cover financial decisions if you are incapacitated and unable to make those decisions yourself)
03 | Appointment of Enduring Guardianship
An Appointment of Enduring Guardianship appoints someone to make decisions about your health, care and wellbeing if you are incapacitated and unable to make those decisions for yourself.
Dombrovski Legal can assist with preparation of Wills, Powers of Attorney and Appointments of Enduring Guardianships, to help give you peace of mind. Having these documents in place can help make things easier for your loved ones in the event something happens to you, and may significantly reduce the time, cost and stress associated with trying to organise your personal affairs in a crisis situation.
